Couples Counseling and Family Therapy

Happiness and fulfillment in a partner relationship, marriage or family are complex matters. Even if they are not dealing with any significant problems, routine, boredom, and lack of communication can lead to new problems.

For couples, sometimes it is just necessary to rediscover each other. In families, it may just mean to improve an understanding of the other’s perspectives on the same situation or problem.

You will be supported in couples or family therapy and offered specific solution oriented approaches to help you solve any difficult and not so difficult problems in your relationship with your loved ones.

Who can Benefit from Couples and Family Therapy?

* Loving couples and families wanting to improve their relationship

* Dissatisfied couples and families wanting to decrease arguments and conflicts

* Engaged couples looking for insight into healthy relationships

* Couples considering separation or divorce but are not yet ready to give up their relationship

* Blended, foster, adoptive and recently divorced families who are having a difficult time adjusting to the change in structure

The following is a sample of reasons why couples seek therapy:

  • You and your partner have stopped communicating effectively.

  • As a couple, you lack emotional and/or sexual intimacy.

  • You are unable to resolve stressful conflicts or sort out negative feelings.

  • You and your partner struggle with your roles in the relationship.

  • You and your partner have child rearing differences.

  • You are discussing the possibility of separation/divorce.

You are going through a transition in your relationship (getting engaged, getting married, trying to have a child or are expecting or adopting, blending families, children moving out, retiring, illness).
